As an artistic expression, it is based on the way in which emotions are interpreted through our movements: unconsciously and consciously. It is characterized by the discipline that leads to express emotions.
The main purpose is to feel freedom in the execution of each artistic movement based on the feelings they want to express, this is certainly what is intended to encourage dance students, and something I always try to convey to my students.
One of the techniques that is often used is the sensoperception, as conceived by Patricia Stokoe. This technique is based on the rediscovery of the kinesthetic, visual, auditory, thermal and olfactory senses, in order to find a conscious and sensitive attitude towards oneself. In this way we find our own body language with which to feel, express and communicate in an integrated, authentic and creative way.
Dance, as we all know, is one of the oldest forms of art and expression of humanity, diversified and branched in numerous variants. There are authors who highlight the possibilities of this expressive manifestation in non-verbal communication.
How is dance conceived?
In the first place, dance, considered as “the notion that is formed of symbologies and feelings expressed in each gesture, in each step, in each movement” (Murcia and Jaramillo, 2008), goes beyond a mechanical-instrumental concept and places the dancer in a space of individual and social construction.

What is projecting in dance?
The projection is a kind of recreation of the folkloric fact that allows, according to the advocates of this dance method, to innovate other elements and concepts.
The ballet technique emphasizes the perpendicularity of the torso, because the dancers must always flow from this vertical axis. It is necessary that all parts of the body are correctly aligned and centered to allow for maximum stability and ease of movement.
The torso and all parts of the dancer’s body must remain supported and elongated upward so that the dancer’s body always remains elongated and stretched (pull-up). Verticality implies resistance to gravity, a concept that should be applied primarily in lifting steps, such as jumps.
One of the technical fundamentals of ballet is the external rotation of the legs (turno-out, in de-hors). Each leg must be rotated outward from the hip joint. Ballet contemplates five specific positions for the feet, which are used in the execution of ballet steps. There are generally corresponding positions for the arms, although they vary depending on the school.

Imagine a database where the movements on which flamenco dancing is based are registered. Suppose further that a computer program can process all this data in real time so that these movements can be executed by a dancing hologram.
What does dance allow us to do?
Dance is a language because through dance, the human being expresses and speaks with the body. “In turn, the body is precisely the instrument that allows us to express feelings, emotions, meanings, even ancestral burdens if we go to a more internal search”.
How is dance constructed?
The dance is composed of several basic elements that interrelate, managing to transmit emotions to the public and to the dancer himself. The predominant use of one or another element is not always even; in some dances the rhythm predominates, in others the use of space, in others the style, etc.
Dance stage for drawing
From its origins, the dances represented a way of thanking the gods for the favors received. But they also became rituals with body movements and guttural exclamations used by the Indians to express pain, sadness and joy.
The dance also served the indigenous people to worship, and many of them even used it to celebrate family celebrations, that is why experts say that dances are the best way to express, spontaneously, the feelings of the people.
They also serve to highlight the immaterial patrimonial wealth safeguarded in myths, beliefs and traditions, all of which are linked to the creation of identity icons. Therefore, when we refer to the typical dances of each region we take into account the translation of feelings linked to tradition, customs, religion, beliefs and economic, mythical, political facts and in general all the popular heritage of the communities.
These characteristics are expressed in a certain way in the researches of the folklorists, taken then to the scene in planimetries, attires, headdresses and the paraphernalia that in the opinion of the ‘purists’ must be adjusted to be a faithful reproduction in order not to distort its true essence.

Who doesn’t like to move? While dance -talking about professional leagues- may not be good for all of us, it is also part of our culture as human beings raised and grown up in a society where behaviors are reproduced. Traditional dance is strongly linked to popular festivities and the representation of a national identity in each region. In such festivities we celebrate and learn not only about dances, as issues of culture, idiosyncrasy and identity are also reinforced in us by understanding that this human activity is as ancient as it is magical.
