Where to play the Augusta Masters

Some time ago Canal+ Golf aired a conversation between Padraig Harrington and Colin Montgomery debating an interesting question: of the nine Open Championship venues that exist today, which would be the best possible course? The conversation is essentially a lively and intelligent debate between two links lovers about what a great golf hole should be, peppered with the most memorable shots in recent Open Championships history. Let’s remember that the Open Championship is the oldest Major and is always played on a traditional links course. It is currently rotated among 9 different courses, although it seems that Royal Portrush may enter the rotation in the future. The Open venues are:

Hole 2: Royal Birkdale or Carnoustie. Both are two great holes of golf, two examples of how good links courses can be. Birkdale is a slight dogleg left that leaves a spectacular second shot to a green protected by many bunkers, and always plays into a crosswind.
