It turns out that GW has demanded that Amazon pull the science fiction book “Spots the Space Marine” by M.C.A. Hogarth. The self-publishing author can’t financially cope with a lawsuit against Games Workshop, so she’s let the matter drop.
Worst of all, they are not withdrawing it because it is based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe or has plagiarized “original” ideas from Games Workshop, but because it contains in its title the term “Space Marine” which now turns out to belong to the English company.
I sincerely hope that someone can fund a lawsuit against Games Workshop for abuses like this. Honestly if a Kickstarter came out to denounce Games Workshop for this I think I would even support it….
